What is Panopto?
Panopto is used by the Faculty of Medicine to manage and distribute lecture recordings. The Panopto app allows for access to view lecture recordings on the go through your mobile device.
How do I login?
Step 1: Tap the three dots in the upper right corner and select “Enter a site manually”.

Step 2: Under Site address, enter “ubc.ca.panopto.com”. If a pop-up appears asking “to use Panopto.com to Sign In,” tap Continue.

Step 3: Sign in with your CWL credentials.

How do I find a recording?
Step 1: Navigate to Browse at the bottom of the app. You will be taken to your Panopto folder directory where lectures are organized based on faculty and class. If you select a folder that has subfolders, a drop-down menu appears that allows you to select the subfolder you want to open.
Step 2a: Use the search bar at the top of the app to search for a lecture title, lecture content, or a subfolder.


Step 2b: Alternatively, navigate to My Stuff at the bottom of the app.
- Shared with Me: Videos that have been shared with you by courses.
- Recently Watched: Videos that you have recently watched.
- Bookmarked:Your bookmarked videos.
- My Folder: Videos from your personal folder.
- Offline Videos: Videos that you’ve downloaded to watch offline in the app.
How do I use the video player?
Table of Contents: Provides timestamps for every slide in the lecture.
Discussion: Post a comment which can be seen by moderators and/or other students.
Notes: You can add your own notes or see other notes made by others with a timestamp at the point in which the notes were made.

Search: Allows you to search the video for keywords and find when they were mentioned during the recording.
