Assessments provide a structured way to evaluate and measure student learning and performance. Forms, groups and dropboxes are some of the tools to help facilitate this. Assessment Forms standardize this process, ensuring consistency and clarity in evaluations, Groups facilitate collaborative work, and Dropboxes offer a secure and organized method for students to submit their work.
How to Create Groups
Create Course Groups to assign smaller groups of learners.
Step 1: Navigate to Admin → Manage Courses

Step 2: Find and select your target course, then click on the Groups tab

Step 3: Click Add New Groups

Step 4: Fill in text field, then choose between creating a specified number of empty groups, or have the system automatically populate groups
Step 5: Click Add, you will be redirected to your newly created groups.

How to Create an Assessment Form
Step 1: Navigate to Admin → Assessment & Evaluation

Step 2: Click on the “Forms” tab, then click the Add Form button

Step 3: Fill in the “Form Title” box and click Add Form

Step 4: Click on the created form for further settings.
Optional: add a description for your form
For On-Demand Workflow, select “Other Assessment Form”
For Permissions, select “Organisation” then “Undergrad Medicine”

Step 5: Under Form Items, click the Add Item(s) button

Step 6: Click the Create & Attach a New Item button

Step 7: For Item Type, select “Drop Down (single response)”
For Item Text, type the desired text prompt, for example, “Proper Completion?”
Check “Make this item mandatory” and “Allow comments for this item”
For Permissions, select “Organisation” then “Undergrad Medicine”

Step 8: Under Item Responses, type “Complete” for Response 1 and “Incomplete” for Response 2.

Step 9: Click the Save button and you will be redirected to the previous Editing Form page, where you can see your added form item. Click Save again

How to Create an Assessment
Step 1: Log in to Entrada and navigate to Admin → Assessment & Evaluation

Step 2: Click on the “Distributions” tab, then click the Add New Distribution button

Step 3: Under the Form tab:
Fill in the Distribution Title
For Task Type, select “Assessment”
For Select Form, find and select the form you would like to use for this assessment
Select the curriculum period and course for this assessment, then click “Next Step”

Step 4: Under the Method tab:
For Distribution Method, select “Date Range”
For Start Date and End Date, input when the assessor can submit their assessment.
For Delivery Date, input when the assessor receives an email to complete the assessment.
Click “Next Step”
TIP: If you want to restrict access to the assessment on a certain day, input that date under Task Expiry Date

Step 5: For Start Date and End Date, input when the assessor can submit their assessment.

Step 6: Under the Targets tab:
For Assessments will be delivered for, select “Select learners”. A new dropdown field called “Select Targets” will appear.
For Select Targets, click on the dropdown list and select “Course Group”. Find and select the group to be assessed.

Step 7: Select the first option and click “Next Step”

Step 8: Under the Assessors tab:
For ‘Assessor Options’, select ‘Select Learners’. A new dropdown field called ‘Select Assessors’ will appear.
For ‘Select Assessors’, click on the dropdown list and select ‘Course Group’. Find and select the group that evaluates the previously chosen Targets. Click ‘Next Step’
TIP: The Target and the Assessors can be the same group!

Step 9: Click ‘Save Distribution’

How to add a Dropbox
A Dropbox allows learners to upload their documents into assessments.
Step 1: Navigate to Admin → Manage Courses

Step 2: Select target course and click on the Gradebook tab

Step 3: Select desired Period and click “Add Drop Box” to the desired assessment

Step 4: Check “Allow learners to upload more than one file”
Optional: Add a dashboard notice for learners who are required to submit. [This allows you to add a notice on the homepage/dashboard of each student enrolled in the cohort of that course only’]
Optional: Allow learners to upload new revisions after their initial upload. [This allows for versioning]
Optional: Add Time Release Options [Allows students to submit within a specific time period]

Step 5: Click “Save” and you will be redirected to the Assessment, where you can view the added Drop Box
